Ain’t I ever learned you nothin’?!
I completely wasted my money on this. I wanted an app that would help my daughter learn regrouping, and this is crap. Just games to review EXISTING knowledge.
MathBoard is fun and a good way to practice multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction practice but in my opinion it needs some work with its technical strategies and the voice over can be annoying and I think it could be funnier for children if there were more fun games and activities but if MathBoard fixes those small things I think it could be a very fun game.
Excellent learning source!!!
In my opinion matboards is the best learning pp in the world right now
Best app for keeping up with your maths skills 😁
My favorite is audio mode. You can hear the math question and then say your answer into your iPhone. Great if you want to hear and talk your answers while you’re driving. The iPad version is not as effective because you always have to repress the microphone icon after each question to activate it. -James
I like that you have a app for learning.
You can barely do anything on this app
This is the best game in the world. I just like to play with my new game. I am so happy to have this game to play on. The game was fun and I am so happy that I have the game. I am so happy that I have the best game in the world. I am so happy that I have the best game in my life and I am so happy that I have this game for me to play. The best game in the town I play this game in the past two weeks, but myself isn’t that happy. I am so happy that I have the best game in the world. I’ll be happy to send a email to you about this game if you don’t have my email that is ok . I have a question for you Do you have a brother or sister. I just wanted to let you know I have a happy new day. The best game in the world I would like you to play this game if you can. I hope you have a good time on this game. Keep this email and I have a good time on this game if your Mom and Dad won’t let you read it tell them your best friend sent the email. The best game in the world is so good I won’t you to play it. The best game in the world is good.
The fact you can’t type in the ranges but have to hold down a button like an old fashioned digital alarm clock to set the number range, is really strange. Let me type in 423 if that’s what I want to set instead of having to scroll there. Otherwise it’s a great app for kids to practice maths. There are no silly games or animations to distract them; their whole attention is on solving the math problem. It’s wonderfully unmontesori (sp?). Improve the settings interface and you have my unqualified 5 start endorsement.
Can’t filing how to turn off the stupid voice. I’m an engineer brushing up on my mental math. I don’t want to hear this voice. Also, I can’t find anything in the settings. When I try to contact the developer through their app, there’s a nonfunctional parental lock for roughing three circles. Not working. I’ve had this app since iPhone 5, and it was great then. Ever since, the added features are just making it worse. I’ll find another app. This isn’t rocket science, and for the price they want for this, it’s a rip off. Response to developer: The three circles approach is not working as stated in the review.
Years ago I gave this app 5 stars. With each new release, they have started to add unnecessary bloat to the software that is making less usable. My kids have a certain amount of time to finish math board assignments. Now they cannot because of the slow and lingering "Correct" that flashes on the screen. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
This is a review of Mathboard version 3.0, first of all this morning we had a huge snow storm here in Colorado and the Larimer Poudre School District is closed throughout the northern Colorado. So the first thing I do is pick up my iPad2 and turn on Mathboard app for my 7 yr old daughter to continue learning multiplication in 3 digits like “278 x 583 = xxxx”, and of course she masters them all, but with honesty, I did use Mathboard app when she was 4, learning from Addition and Subtraction through the year, and I must say the Mathboard app does all the teaching for me and most certainly made my life much easier to teach, this app has the perfect amount of tool to teach young kids. Now, getting back to the snow storm today, I had an issue with my iPad2 that I didn’t know was not functioning properly when I was trying open up Mathboard version 3.0, and I couldn’t get it to operate, so I contacted PalaSoftware Company through email explaining my problem, and 'lo and boho’, I get an almost instant reply within a minute or so, with a live person walking me through my problem and as it turned out that there was nothing wrong with Mathboard app, but it was my iPad2 iOS version 9.3 was not updated properly, I did reinstall iOS version 9.3 again through my iTunes on my Mac and everything is working perfectly as it always has for the last 4 years. PalaSoftware customer service is simply “Awesome”, they keep in contact with me constantly as I try to fix my iPad problem. I would highly recommend this Mathboard App to all parents and teachers to help with your kid age 4 and up. Thank You PalaSoftware for being here, Mathboard is always a learning endeavor! and Never too early to teach your kids.
I have used this app for years drilling basic math skill into my kid's heads. They run through quizzes everyday and email me the results. Support is quick and accurate. Highly recommend.
Hi guys. I love this app because it is education related. Like I said in the title, I feel like I am in my math class when I play this. I am a blind girl so The speech setting helps me a lot. I'm a nine-year-old so this app helps me learn those hardmultiplication tables.
I emalied support and my enhancement request was implemented within a day!? My 4th grade son with concentration issues uses the app every day now for a quick math work outs. The settings are very flexible and great for any student who wants to practise math skills and sharpen speed of calculating.
My kids have been using this app for over 2.5 years and they are blazing fast and accurate because every day they spend at least 12 minutes doing various drills. Even though they are just in grade school, I would challenge any high schooler or adults to go head to head against them for accuracy and speed, and yes the adult may use a calculator my kids will need no such thing. This app works well because the parent can set parameters for whatever particular math drill to be acquired including time, operators, number limits, etc. it also works because of repetition, that is key to mastery. The only thing I could request of the developers is to place parental locks so that devious children cannot adjust the parameters set by the parent. The kids would probably request a progress report made of graphs or something and perhaps some reports. This app is an integral part of my children's daily math program, it has made all the difference.
This is a great app for math drills. I like how you can tailor the quizzes to focus on certain areas.
Excellent tutoring and studying app. Check out MathBoard Fractions! Great tutoring and studying app also. They should make MathBoard Decimals and other MathBoard apps. Well done!
This is as close to a straight to the point math app for young learners as I've seen who either are or need to be past the furry friends and bubbles stage. I like the chalk board feature for writing and figuring, because it allows for typical algorithmic solving. The range of basic whole number operations is right, as is its flexibility. There's lots of roll up your sleeves fun. Over all, a nice job. For the price, I do expect some feature enhancements on down the road a bit, though. Maybe a whiteboard setting for starters.
Love all the options! Fits the needs for my 1st grader and my 5th grader.
I've downloaded a lot of educational apps. Most are junk. This one is great. It's simple, but so are many things that work. I like how I can set the parameters. For example my daughter needed to solidify the 6 through 9 times tables, so we ran more directed quizzes. Other times will set it for all types of arithmetic. I can review what was missed. Particularly if you are stuck in a school that uses Everyday Math or similar drivel, this no-nonsense program is what you need to cement the basics.
Numbers change when I put the second digit in. For example when I put in the number 10 it changes by itself to 01 or when I put in 24 it changes to 42. Please fix ASAP
I have been using this app in conjunction with my children's school studies. We love it!
Worked great for our 3rd grader to master mult tables!
MathBoard is terrific- each of my kids is able to practice & master math skills at their individual levels. Appropriate for all of different ages, and so fun to use. The chalkboard, expandable work area, the problem solver, timer...absolutely the best!
Simply the best Math App for my kids to review, practice, and master their math skills! The ability to set number ranges, time quizzes, save results, the problem solver, and expandable chalkboard make it a must have. The best part...my kids really enjoy practicing their math - simply terrific!
One of the best apps I've seen for iPhone !!!! thank you 😊👍
Would like to see ability to restrict equations more. Just times 1, or times 0, just multiply up to 36, all times 3. Great for mostly random practice, but most people want to target areas and do so methodically. This app does not and should not charge $5 for what it does offer. Disappointed....
Great app. Just wish it had more. Like decimal numbers and fractions. Maybe even a Algebra app.
Didn't help me at all!! I'm not buying this crap anymore
MY two kids use this app, its ok. But, The app doesn´t work in the iPad 1. Its not very intuitive to config the profiles for each child. MIssing division with remainders, decimals Missing Multiplication, substraction and addition with decimals. Fractions?
I have been using this app for 2 years with my son now 8. He practices almost everyday. They are a few bugs BUT he can work on Mathboard on his own and this is great. I Highly recommend this application
I've been waiting for this Math Board app for the iPhone ever since I walked into an Apple Store & tested it on the iPad a year ago, only to find out it was only for the iPad… Thank you, Palasoftware, Inc., for bringing it to the iPhone. For decades I've wanted to have a math quizzer (as a young boy, I begged my father to get me, Texas Instruments' "Little Professor"). Before the iPhone, I could only find electronic devices that were unmistakably intended for children, and unfortunately that trend continues for many of the math quizzing apps today. Thank YOU for not designing your app in a childish fashion. That's a big plus for us mature customers who realize you have to keep practicing in order to be faster at math. There's a lot of cool intricacies that make this app amazing as you discover them, such as the swiping-screen breakdown of how to calculate the problem. I do like how each quizzing session is saved and reviewable. I kind of wish there was the option to stop the problem from disappearing upon inputting the answer; sometimes, I like to look at it and go over how I just calculated it (doing so, is possible via "wrong answer quiz", but I have to work my way back to it, still). By the way, I've studied left-to-right calculation, via the CD course, Mega Math, by Scott Flansburg. I'm nowhere near his speed, but I'm faster than I was before his course. So, it would be nice if your breakdown covered left-to-right, also. My BIGGEST complaint is in the options for choosing the number of digits in the math problems… I REALLY wish it had the number roller-wheel system, as opposed to the left-and-right triangular buttons. I realize you can hold down to make the numbers increase or decrease speedily, but that's still too slow. Please make a roller-wheel! Also, when choosing keypad mode, the push responsiveness of the buttons needs improvement; It's good, but still needs speedier push responsiveness. Even still, this is a GREAT MATH APP, and I hope MANY MORE ADULTS buy this, AND USE THIS!
Although this app proclaims to be for any age, there is nothing instructional about this app. It doesn't ask for the child's age or automatically scale up or down the level based on wrong or right answers. It's idea of help is to display a table where the child can look up the answer. If you are wanting your child to learn to double digit addition, you walk through the steps, explain what you are doing and then repeat and repeat with different examples. Don't expect this app to satisfy any self-educational value for your child.
I need to turn off the result side of the mathboard because my child using it find the answers to problem that may repeat. Thank you, Capricorn901
Used to be a great app, but the max answer option in settings has stopped working. Makes it kind of useless for my 1st grader.
Ok so im a kid and i got this app and i play it all the time. Now thats saying somthing and not that im a geek
Very boring way of practicing math
Perfect for my 4th grader to practice all her newly honed math skills with 'real' multiplication and division problems. Love the blackboard scratch pad. Great customer support. Emailed a problem and got immediate response from developers!
but what what would make it great would be if you could put your own examples in.
This app is essential for any parent of school-aged children (or for children!) that want other ways to help kids learn all sort of math, especially the basics of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. However, it seems the latest version has a touch glitch when trying to tap the correct answers when multiple choice is enabled. I'm using an iPad 2 and it takes 2 or more taps before the answer is recognized. It's really frustrating to our 4th grade daughter trying to get fast with multiplication. The iPad in question is healthy and has no touch issues elsewhere, so it seems to be this app. Hope a fix is upcoming. It used to receive touch responses flawlessly.
App works fine, but latest update has been giving us an ad after every math set. I despise apps for kids that try to get them to buy other things.
I use MathBoard individually with my caseload of ten students and my 7th grade daughter at home, and it serves both groups equally well. I can track quizzes for each student, change the parameters of the quiz, track ongoing skill development by answers correct, the original answers/problems so I can locate error patterns, the time each student took on each quiz and even the time they took on each question so I can track fluency! A great app, very useful in my classroom!
Can not change the amount of number ratio top or bottom. The option is available on the menu but will not hi light so that I can select. I have played with the menu to see if something needs to be turned off in order for the setting to become available, I haven't had any luck. Other than that my 5th grader enjoys using this application.
My niece used to have some trouble with basic arithmetic problems. After some weeks of training with MathBoard she mastered them. Congratulations to the dev team.
I really love your app because it. Has addition. Subtraction and division plus equation . It is really helpful that you can even transfer to your apple tv which I had one Fron gema
Add Pemdas, fractions and find missing number
